Our Future For Success is a platform built on compassion and transparency, designed to create direct connections between community members and individuals experiencing homelessness. We believe in the power of personal stories to break down barriers and inspire meaningful change. Our mission is to provide a dignified way for individuals to share their journey, define their own needs, and receive direct support from a community that cares.
We intentionally launched as a for-profit corporation for several practical reasons:
- Speed — becoming a registered charity takes 6–18 months or longer with the CRA. We wanted to start helping people right away and gather real feedback.
- Flexibility — our platform includes an affiliate program for influencers, featured profiles, and a fee structure that would be very difficult to operate under strict charity rules.
- Sustainability — being for-profit lets us reinvest revenue into growth, security, compliance, and new features without the heavy restrictions charities face.
- Future charitable path — once we reach meaningful scale and prove consistent positive impact, we plan to apply for charitable status (or create a separate charitable entity) so we can offer tax receipts and potentially reduce or remove platform fees for certain campaigns.
This staged approach is used by several well-known social-good platforms — it lets us build responsibly and then deepen our charitable mission when the foundation is strong.
For Supporters:
Browse through personal profiles, read the unique stories of individuals in your community, and understand their specific fundraising goals. When you gift, you're making a direct impact. Please note, all gifts are subject to a 15% fee deduction. The platform fee is revenue to the company and is subject to normal business taxes. It is not a tax collected on behalf of the donor.
Important – Tax Information
- This platform is not currently a registered charity.
- Gifts made here are personal contributions and do not qualify for charitable tax credits at this time.
- We are working toward applying for registered charity status with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). If and when we receive approval, we plan to offer official charitable tax receipts for eligible gifts of $50 CAD and above. We will clearly announce when this becomes available.
- The platform fee is revenue to the company and is subject to normal business taxes. It is not a tax collected on behalf of the donor.
For Individuals:
We provide a secure and empowering space to share your story with dignity. Set a fundraising goal for what you need most—whether it's a security deposit, work attire, or educational materials. You have control over your narrative and your goals.
Payment Security:
All payments on our platform are securely processed by Square, a trusted leader in payment processing. Your payment information is encrypted and protected, ensuring a safe and secure giving experience.
ID Verified & Health Insurance Access
This symbol indicates that the individual's identity has been confirmed by our team. It also signifies that they have opted into and are eligible for our group health insurance plan, which is supported by a portion of community gifts. This verification provides an extra layer of trust and security for everyone.
